Breast Massage

Breast Massage helps to decrease congestion of the breast. Women will benefit from breast massage especially whom are:

  • experiencing pain or congestion from menstruation
  • going through pregnancy
  • suffering from restricting undergarments

During a treatment, the therapist may stretch the pectoral muscles and manipulate the lymph nodes in the under arms and neck. Then, the therapist will inform the client that the breasts will be undraped and only do so when the client gives consent. The sheet will undraped down to the hips. If the client does not feel comfortable, one side may be exposed at a time. During massage the areola will not be massaged; only the surrounding tissue.

Another facet of breast massage is scar tissue work for post lumpectomy and mastectomy surgeries. It reduces the restrictiveness and size of the surgical scar.
